Which brand of uPVC is best?

No single PVCu brand is best for every home. Quality depends on the profile system, the fabricator who builds the frames, the glass and hardware, and the installer. Compare a Class A profile, Window Energy Rating, PAS 24 security and a written guarantee rather than a brand name alone.

Who builds the window matters?

The profile is extruded by a system company, but a fabricator cuts, welds and assembles it. Poor fabrication spoils a good profile, so ask who makes the finished window.

How should you compare options?

  • Profile class under BS EN 12608
  • Window Energy Rating, from A++ down to E
  • PAS 24 security testing
  • Hardware quality and multi-point locking
  • Guarantee length and who backs it

See our PVCu windows. Phoenix Windows makes its PVCu windows in-house in Nuneaton and backs them with an insurance-backed 10-year guarantee through Assure.

Does a bigger brand mean a better window?

Not necessarily. A well-known profile can be badly fitted, and a smaller maker can build to a higher standard. Ask for evidence such as the BS EN 12608 class, a Window Energy Rating and PAS 24 certification.

Thinking about new windows? We make our own windows and fit them across Nuneaton, Bedworth, Hinckley, Tamworth and Rugby, with an insurance-backed 10-year guarantee. Call 02476 350 330, or request a quote.
